At the DeBakey Heart Center, our contributions to the field of cardiovascular medicine began with the work of the pioneering cardiovascular surgeon and researcher Dr. Michael E. That tradition continues today through programs such as the Winters Center for Heart Failure Research at Baylor College of Medicine where our re-searchers are zeroing in on a simple, reliable tool for predicting advanced heart failure, enabling physicians to identify those patients who would benefit from early referral to advanced heart failure clinics.
